Skin Tightening

An alternative to surgery, the Plasma Pen is a revolutionary skin-tightening option with less downtime.

Plasma Pen, or known as Fibroblast Pen is a noninvasive skin lifting, skin tightening, and skin rejuvenation procedure that uses plasma energy to trigger regeneration of the skin epidermal layer. By disrupting the deeper layer structure, this treatment triggers the fibroblast cells to generate collagen and elasticity, a protein responsible for skin elasticity and firmness. An ideal treatment option for target areas that include wrinkles or skin that is dropping and losing its youthfulness with age. It is also an effective treatment for scars and stretchmarks!

For the advance skin revision enthusiast, book a consultation and let’s chat about your options.

The Plasma treatment is an advanced surface modification technique. Plasma is a reactive treatment process where positive and negative ions, electrons, and radicals react and effectively tighten the superficial tissue and stimulate collagen and elastin strengthening, significantly reducing the appearance of wrinkles and tightening.

The PHI-ION TREATMENT is based on creating a series of minute dots adjacent to the tension lines on the skin.

This process triggers an instant contraction and tightening of skin fibres to create a lifting, remodeling, and rejuvenating effect.

The Ph-Ion pen uses the plasma state of matter. The principle involves the ionization of gases from the atmospheric air to create micro electrical discharge causing sublation of the excessive/sagging superficial skin layer.

This method can be used to treat specific areas of concern without damaging the surrounding tissue or applying unwanted heat energy to them.

Phi-Ion provides an effective non-surgical blepharoplasty (baggy eye correction) and can be used for non-surgical neck-lift, and scar treatments, including acne scars as well as wrinkles tensioning. It is also able to remove skin blemishes.

TREATMENTS: Eyelid correction, neck lifts, acne scars, stretch marks, lines and wrinkles, crow’s feet, marionette lines, age spots, and more.

One or two treatment is usually sufficient to achieve the desired results. After 1-month post-treatment, you will schedule a check-up appointment. The therapist determines if an additional treatment is necessary. A follow-up appointment can be scheduled for 3 months post-first treatment unless otherwise advised. The results are expected to last for at least 9 months and can be optimised by continuing with paramedical skin care and monthly maintenance skin treatments. Discuss your maintenance options with your skin therapist.

There will be discomfort with Plasma Pen, including swelling, and heat in the tissue treated that will normally last 48 hours.

Swelling can reduce over 2-5 days, and you may wear recommended make-up and skin care over the area only from day two post-treatment. It is important to know that redness can remain for several weeks post-treatment as the skin regenerates.

Place wet cotton pads and any recommended soothing cream in the fridge. In the first six hours post-treatment, gently apply clean, cool cotton pads over the treatment area and dispose after each use.

Perform at 10-minute intervals as often as required. You may also take a light analgesic, such as paracetamol if required. It is important to follow the exact home care set out by your therapist.

You will experience heat, swelling, and redness, this is expected after such a treatment.

Understanding the healing timeline

Day 0 |  Treatment – 2 days of care and cooling
Days 3-5 | Inflammatory stage
Days 5-28 | Fibroblastic stage, fibroblasts are producing collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid.
Week 4-8 | Crosslinking stage, the collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid form bundles and crosslink to form tensile strength.  This is the thickening of the dermal layer.
Week 8-12 | Maturation stage, the cross-linked bundles are now joining together, and the epidermis can be seen to tighten further with the dermal layer is plumping and smoothing.

  • DOWN TIME 48 hours to 4 days depending on the client’s healing response.
  • No Make up for 2 days.
  • Dots fall away from day 4-7 (face) or 7-14 days (body).
  • PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT: Wear SPF50+ daily and reapply every 2 hours.
  • Consider quality skin care and essential fatty acid supplements to further support the tightening of skin during the healing cascade.
